In galleries and cafes all around the globe, modern art has formed an unbreakable bond with coffee, therefore this monochromatic art-coffee space by Republic Design is a familiar fusion. Hidden down a tiny lane near Chung Yuan Christian University in Taoyuan, Art Gallery Republic could be a haven for any art-loving student with a craving for caffeine.

The interior space is imbued with a sense of playfulness and experimentation. Its straight lines and narrow dimensions are divided by a curved, trapezoid-shaped island with sliding bars and a table that folds out from the wall. Despite this abstract spatial intervention, however, the interior space remains physically borderless and completely open to the imagination.
