Familia就是這個思考點激發而出的設計, Ole Jensen希望設計出一系列向六千年前的美索不達米亞古文明致敬的作品, 渾圓古拙的Familia就是捨棄不必要的繁雜元素, 經過漫長製作工程後, 應運而生現代食器。在這個個人主義盛行, 設計得以天馬行空, 特立獨行也無妨的時代, Ole Jensen的Familia卻是為了團聚派對時長桌子上的盛宴所設計, 試圖以最歷久彌新的圓滿線條, 傳遞保存逐漸流失的傳統美好價值。
Ole Jensen生於1958年丹麥，於哥本哈根的皇家藝術學院畢業，從1985年起他就與Royal Scandinavia合作至今，1992-1999年他擔任丹麥設計學校的產品設計中心負責人。 Ole Jensen的設計一貫理念為：整合形狀與功能，並把工作融入娛樂當中，他幫皇家哥本哈根(Royal Copenhagen)，他設計了非常多陶、瓷器作品，大家最熟知的，就是他所做的Ole系列咖啡杯。
Familia is designed by Ole Jensen with a wish to create a design with respect for the ancient tradition, seen in Mesopotamia some 6000 years ago.
The round shapes, turned on the potter’s wheel started in Mesopotamia in the Middle East around 4000 years B.C. The potters turned their first dishes and plates in potter’s clay. The potter’s wheel later spread to the southern part of Europe where the Romans brought the technique and design with them wherever they went. This way the design spread to the rest of Europe and the first pottery arrived in Denmark around year 100 AD.
